Q. When did you learn to spin?
A. I started with an Annie May hand made drop spindle and a full pound of Ashland Bay colonial top in January of 2005. By April of 2005 I came across a great deal on the Ashford and man was I in LOVE. By my third real attempt I had created a fine, consistent two ply and there was no going back.
Q. What kind of spinning wheel do you use?
A. After much scrimping and saving, and a little help from Uncle Sam (via tax rebate), I am now the proud owner of a Lendrum DT complete kit. My joy knows no bounds. :)
Q. What kind of dyes do you use?
A. I started with food grade dyes, moved to union (RIT) dyes, and am now using Pro-Chem professional dyes.
Q. I saw something I liked in your gallery, but it's sold. Can you make me more?
A. Well, sort of. Each batch is unique, and there's usually no way to completely recreate a particular colorway. The same with handspun. I can make something really *close*, but not exactly the same. If this works for you, then please contact me and we can discuss details.
Q. Do you do custom work?
A. YES! I enjoy the challenge of custom work. For both hand dyed colorways and hand spun yarn I am happy to discuss custom work. Most requests can be accommodated.
