Hand-dyed YarnMost of my hand-dyed yarns are high quality, commercially spun yarn that I hand dye with either chemical, natural, or food grade dyes. All are set for colorfastness and are then washed in Eucalan wool wash for a great feel and smell. Please view my hand-dyed yarns in the Gallery. Hand-spun YarnHand-spun yarn is labor of love. Hours go into making each batch of hand-spun, especially multi-ply yarn. There is an organic feel to hand-spun that you don't find in commercially spun yarn, and it's that liveliness that many knitters prize and love. I love the rhythm of spinning and how the yarn you produce can be a reflection of your mood. Please view my hand-spun yarns in the Gallery. Hand-dyed RovingRoving is pretty much where it all starts. Whether commercial or hand-spun, yarn started as a ball of fluff and progressed into something grander than itself. Most of my roving comes from local sheep raised on small farms here in the Hudson Valley. There's a variety of breeds in the area, ranging from Romney to Corriedale. I will also offer purchased roving that I have dyed in order to expand my fiber selection. PatternsSimple patterns work very well to showcase the beauty of hand-spun and hand-dyed yarn. I will be featuring free basic patterns that work around the common range of yardage my yarn tends to be. Pay patterns may be offered at a later date. KitsSpinning and knitting kits coming soon! Stitch-markersEach set unique and hand beaded, these stitch markers are hand made by me, each one a miniature work of art. Please view my stitch-markers in the Gallery. |
